Suzuki clinician and faculty educator, Janse Vincent thrives on sharing viola music with others

Janse Vincent is currently a member of both the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra and the Madison Symphony Orchestra. She is also violist with the Con Vivo! chamber ensemble and freelances in the area. Janse teaches viola and violin privately and is an instructor with the Suzuki Strings of Madison. After concluding her undergraduate studies at Furman University, she earned a Masters in viola performance from Northwestern University and a D.M.A. in viola performance and pedagogy from the University of Iowa.

Janse has taught on the faculties of the Preucil School of Music in Iowa City, Iowa, and the Cincinnati String Academy. She has served as a clinician at the Memphis Suzuki Institute, American Suzuki Institute, Capitol Suzuki Institute, and the Suzuki and Advanced String Workshop in Gainesville, FL, among others. Her orchestra associations include the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Cedar Rapids Symphony (Orchestra Iowa), Chicago String Ensemble, and Gainesville Chamber Orchestra. Performances with Con Vivo! have taken her to New York City and the Weill Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall and a residency in Kassel, Germany, as representatives of Dane County.

Janse is an avid exerciser and enjoys travel, and spending time with her husband and son. When asked what she enjoys most about her job, she replied, "Sharing music with others – whether it's performing or teaching."
