An annual scholarship competition with an opportunity to perform for thousands on The Square.

The Young Artist Concerto Competition (YACC) invites Wisconsin’s high school musicians to audition for scholarships and the opportunity to perform as a soloist at Concerts on the Square®. Auditions are adjudicated by Music Director Andrew Sewell and a panel of WCO musicians, providing valuable feedback and development for aspiring young musicians. Past scholarship recipients have gone on to receive their collegiate degrees in music, becoming professional musicians, with a few select individuals who have become renowned performers.

The competition takes place annually with applications opening in October. The winner of the YACC will appear as a soloist at Concerts on the Square and will receive the David Lewis Crosby Scholarship in the amount of $1,500. The runner-up will receive a $1,000 scholarship.

The 2025 YACC Winners:
