Free violin lessons that teach so much more than music.

Super Strings was developed for Madison area kids who might not otherwise have access to music education. Led by WCO musicians, our program focuses on developing musical skills and a ‘can do it’ attitude through strong mentorship connections. Beyond the music, students learn the art of perseverance, creativity, and confidence and will build on these skills throughout their lives.

Working in partnerships with community organizations, curriculum covers fundamental instrument techniques, caring for instruments, bow handling, rhythmic practice, theory, and repertoire.

“Super Strings really fits the goal and educational mantra of what we are trying to do by getting instruments into the hands of young students who would otherwise not have an opportunity to do so.”
– Music Director Andrew Sewell
