Winter Celebration

Jun and Sandy Lee are generously sponsoring an evening of masterful musicianship to Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra (WCO). Throughout the years, the WCO has continued to enrich the lives of the Madison community with a wide array of diverse programming–from performances in the Capitol Theater of the Overture Center to the outdoor beauty of Concerts on the Square. This evening’s program features works by Brahms, Beethoven, and Dvorak, showcasing the tremendous talents of the orchestra and the evening’s guest soloists: Jessica & Michael Shinn, piano and Mark Kosower, cello.

Subscribers can purchase their single tickets now by calling 608.257.0638. Single tickets go on sale to the public starting June 3, 2024 online at artsticketing.wisc.edu or by calling the ticket office at 608.265.2787.

Mark Kosower, cello

ABOUT MARK KOSOWER

A modern player with a “signature sound” and distinctive style of playing, cellist Mark Kosower embodies the concept of the complete musician performing as concerto soloist with symphony orchestras, in solo recitals, and as a much admired and sought-after chamber musician. He is Principal Cello of The Cleveland Orchestra and a scholar and teacher of cello. Mark’s performance repertoire and discography are testaments to a deep devotion, not only to frequently heard repertoire such as Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations and concertos of Haydn, Walton, Elgar and Dvořák but, significantly, to less well-known concertos of Alberto Ginastera, Miklos Rozsa, Frederich Gulda and Victor Herbert.
