Join us for an evening showcasing the fiery virtuosity of guest pianist Ilya Yakushev in Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3. A true tour de force, this concerto brims with relentless energy—perfectly suited to Yakushev’s commanding artistry. The program opens with Mozart’s Symphony No. 27 in G Major, a charming piece that captures the composer’s youthful brilliance, and Bizet’s Symphony in C brings the evening to a close, radiating lyrical warmth and French finesse.
Fun fact: Symphony in C was conducted by Music Director Andrew Sewell for his inaugural WCO concert in 2000.

Russian pianist Ilya Yakushev, with many awards and honors to his credit, continues to astound and mesmerize audiences at major venues on three continents. In the 2024-25 season, Ilya Yakushev performed as piano soloist with Youngstown Symphony, Cheyenne Symphony, Panama City Symphony, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, and Glacier Symphony in addition to over 40 recitals in North America and Europe.
