Amanda Szczys was a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and played with New World Symphony

Amanda King Szczys, a native of Toledo, Ohio, attended the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor of Music degree in Bassoon Performance. In 2003, she received her Master of Music degree from the University of Michigan. She was a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and has also played with the Milwaukee, Toledo, and New World Symphonies.

Amanda enjoys teaching private lessons and has served on the faculties of the Interlochen Arts Camp All-State Program, the University of Michigan Summer Arts Institute, and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music Preparatory Department. Her principal teachers included Richard Beene, William Winstead, and Martin James.
