We Must Do Better

The COVID-19 pandemic and the death of George Floyd have reminded us of the deep structural issues in our society that were present long before these tragedies.

Our collective desire for and work toward equity and inclusion have been insufficient to create necessary systemic change. In this moment, the WCO will rededicate ourselves to breaking down classical music’s built-in legacy of oppression through our repertoire, partnerships, educational opportunities, and community access.

Our mission is to advance Wisconsin communities through the transformative power of music and we believe music has the ability to unify and build bridges between people.
