COS Leap Day is the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra’s premier fundraising gala. Proceeds from this event are an important source of support for WCO programming, especially WCO education projects. In addition to its award winning Education Initiatives, the WCO performs a variety of concerts including Concerts on the Square®, the Masterworks series, Middleton Holiday Pops, and Handel’s Messiah. Through these activities, WCO introduces over 375,000 people every year to the beauty of classical music. It is especially important to note that the WCO performs for more citizens in the region free of charge than any other arts organization in Madison. This is why COS Leap Day Gala is so critical to WCO success.

COS Leap Day Gala proceeds will support the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra’s award winning education projects that include:

Youth Concerts performed for regional elementary schools at the Overture Center
Award winning study guides that integrates school curriculum with music for a high-impact, curriculum based interaction with music.
In-Elementary School visits by professional musicians of the WCO (in advance of youth concerts and in support of study guides)
High school visits by WCO guest artists (nearly every guest artist brought to Madison is
also engaged by the WCO to teach Master classes in area schools)
Youth Concerto Competition (cash awards given and the winner performs with the WCO at Concerts On the Square)
