MOZART | Concerto No. 24 for Piano in C Minor, K. 491
BRUCKNER | Symphony in D Minor (Nullte)
Our scheduled guest artist, Anne-Marie McDermott will be unable to join us for our March 22nd concert due to a family emergency. We are very lucky indeed, that the extraordinary pianist, Shai Wosner is able to fill in for her, and even more fortunate that Mr. Wosner has agreed to perform Mozart's Concerto No. 24 for Piano in C minor, K. 491. This concerto is just one of two of Mozart's twenty-seven piano concertos written in the minor key.
Anton Bruckner’s Symphony in D minor (Nullte) is an early work very Schubert-like in nature. More commonly, these early symphonies are being performed by chamber orchestras and we are delighted and excited to present this with the WCO. His expansive palette and consonant harmonies emulate his deep religious convictions.
